
The EFS brake kits will come with EBC Redstuff pads already installed. We recommend running these first to put the discs through an initial heat cycle. Since the compound is only good for an effective working temperature of 400°C, they will help prevent the chance of thermal shock. We recommend doing a bedding in session with Redstuff and run them until the discs have a near mirror finish to them. There will be some extra noise from the discs while the pads are mating up to the discs for the first time. If you are swapping out your optional chosen pads for a track day, we recommend trying to fit them at least the day before the track day in order to do a bedding in session that will also help replace the Redstuff transfer layer that will be on the discs.
These kits are designed to be run without the factory dust shield, as this also prevents heat dissipation of the inside friction face of the discs. The pads are also not designed for the OE wear sensors. The discs will be labelled for the left or right side of the car as they have curved vanes. This is the most efficient cooling design compared to straight or pillar vanes as it will pump the air out from the centre to the outside. Running a ducted hose to the inner centre of the disc will increase this pumping efficiency. For optimum cooling efficiency of the brake pads, we recommend NOT to use any type of grease at all. By using a grease, it will attract and hold onto all debris and become an abrasive paste. Also, it will prevent air flow between the pistons and the calipers.
